Following is developmental. Others rejoice when one acts.
The manager is fulfilling the expectations of others.
By following along the path of what is desired, the
manager has the opportunity of gradually introducing guidance. He or she
identifies times for action and stillness and other times for advance and
it should not be necessary to remind one that following
requires great care in the beginning.
Weak following result sin a loss of reality and then a
loss in everything else.
Following can result in strength only by abiding in right
and not moving -- and by following while trusting in goodness.
As a manager, it is unreasonable to expect others to
follow you before you have followed them.
